Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages and oversees the property/casualty insurance underwriting program for individuals and/or groups, such as accident insurance, crime insurance, loss of property insurance etc. Implements guidelines and procedures regarding risk exposure, application renewal, acceptance, modification, and denial. Leads and trains the underwriters to ensure integrity of property and casualty underwriting activities and processes. Being a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager experienced in risk management and complex applications. Provides consultative support for large accounts. Additionally, Property Casualty Underwriting Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires certification as a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU). Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Property Casualty Underwriting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Property Casualty Underwriting Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Producer will be responsible for building a profitable book of business through customer program offerings. They will assist in developing and acquiring new business revenue from new and existing clients and assigned prospects in identified sectors or market areas. Develops and maintains interdivision/intercompany relationships consistent with our corporate culture. Develops basic functional knowledge of the insurance industry.

    • Provides expert guidance, strategy, and best practices to clients with regards to risk management and insurance.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Ability to identify exposures, obtain underwriting information and provide expert recommendations about appropriate insurance coverages for client.
    • Timely  response to client, underwriter and internal department requests.
    • Analyze  exposures for new and renewal clients to help ensure clients have the insurance they need to meet their goals and comply with legal requirements.
    • Support and assist in the preparation of comprehensive submissions for marketing.
    • Coordinate customer service with Account Managers
    • Ability to maintain professional relationships with customers, clients, and co-workers.
    • Ability to work in and contribute to culture of teamwork and cooperation.
    • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently.
    • Highly ethical
    • Understands business owners and our client base and focuses efforts accordingly.
    • Drive top line revenue and supports efforts to drive bottom line results for the  agency through focused sales activity and new channel development.
    • Align prospective clients with our support teams to help facilitate great experiences for our teams and our clients.
    • Strong analytical, negotiating, organizational, and decision-marking skills.

    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum of high school diploma, college degree preferred.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with insurance agency and / or carrier handling commercial accounts.
