Psychologist - Ph.D evaluates patients for mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, and determines the appropriate course of treatment for the patient. Being a Psychologist - Ph.D uses talk therapy to treat patient illness or distress, cannot prescribe medication. Requires a PhD in clinical psychology. Additionally, Psychologist - Ph.D requires a valid state license to practice. Typically reports to a medical director. The Psychologist - Ph.D works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.     How you make a difference

    The Psychologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment services to assist with the annual court evaluation process and collaborating with the treatment team to design and deliver effective treatment services. They will work as an active member of the treatment team and provide staff education and consultation on psychological issues as needed. Candidates must have a doctorate in psychology, be licensed to practice in their state, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conducts evaluations and diagnostic testing for sex offender treatment planning. 
    • Consults with multidisciplinary teams and Clinical Leadership. 
    • Participates in Clinical Program Development Committee. 
    • Provides Annual Treatment Progress Reviews to the Courts. 
    • Supervises and trains post-doctoral fellows in psychology. 

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Education

    • A Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology from an Accredited University.

    Experience

    • Experience in a correctional and/or forensic environment highly desirable.

    Licenses/Certifications

    • Licensed or ability to become licensed within one year of hire.
