Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare leads and directs process and overall quality improvement activities that produce better patient care and more efficient operations. Develops programs to review and evaluate patient care and outcomes. Being a Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare implements a strategy and plans for a quality improvement function within the facility in collaboration with the administrative and clinical leaders of the hospital. Tracks and presents results of improvement efforts and ongoing measures of clinical processes to management. Additionally, Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Quality Improvement Director - Healthcare typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Overview:

    The Director of the Division of Quality, Safety and Risk has the authority and responsibility for quality, risk, patient safety, public reporting, regulatory and accreditation readiness, patient survey trending satisfaction, complaint and grievance processes, infection control and prevention, performance improvement, disease management, education services and the medical staff office. Ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, processes, and services consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the Sisters of Mercy Health System and Mercy Springfield Communities (Lebanon, Aurora, Cassville, Mountain View). The Director provides strategic direction and management of quality, safety, and clinical outcomes initiatives including planning, design, development, implementation and evaluation of related projects and programs.

    Promotes cooperation and sharing between quality departments across Mercy Springfield Communities. Ensures appropriate, accurate and timely measurement and reporting of clinical quality and patient safety practices throughout Mercy Springfield communities including promotion of continuous quality improvement. Reports to the Vice President of Quality & Safety.

    Qualifications:
    • Experience: 5 years of direct patient care experience and 1-3 years in a healthcare quality leadership role
    • Required Education: Bachelors degree
    • Preferred Education: Masters degree
    • Other: Exceptional personal and written communication skills. Solid skills in Microsoft Office.
