Position OverviewWe are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Outdoor Sports Manager to join our team and help grow and manage our outdoor sports program. You will be responsible for supervising and training the staff, developing and implementing standard operating procedures, scheduling reservations, organizing and conducting member shooting events, maintaining the club facilities and equipment, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of the club members and guests, and developing strategies to increase the club’s revenue and membership.To be successful as an Outdoor Sports Manager, you should have a passion for shooting sports and other outdoor sports, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a strong knowledge of the gun industry and regulations. You should also have a proven track record of managing a club or similar business and be able to handle multiple tasks and challenges in a fast-paced environment.In addition, the Outdoor Sports Manager should have experience in the fishing industry, as well as other outdoor sports to include field and 3D archery, as well as tomahawk throwing.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train the staff and handle any issues or complaints from the Guests.
- Organize shooting events, such as competitions, tournaments, clinics, and socials, and coordinate with other clubs and associations to arrange inter-club events.
- Maintain the club facilities and equipment, such as ranges, targets, firearms, ammunition, and safety gear, and ensure they meet the standards of quality and safety.
- Promote Cabot Citrus Farms to the public and potential members and develop marketing and advertising campaigns to increase the club’s visibility and reputation.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding firearms, ammunition, and shooting activities, and keep updated records of licenses, permits, and inspections.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase the club’s revenue and membership, such as offering new services, programs, or discounts, and soliciting sponsorships and donations.
- Evaluate and improve the club’s operations and services and seek feedback from the staff and club members to identify areas of improvement or innovation.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent minimum, college experience in business administration preferred.
- Minimum Level One NSCA shooting instructor certification preferred or plans to obtain certification.
- Previous experience as a club manager / assistant manager, or in a similar role in the gun industry, such as a range officer, instructor, or salesperson.
- Passion for shooting sports, and extensive knowledge of firearms, ammunition, and shooting techniques.
- Experienced in the fresh and saltwater fishing industry. Charter fishing experience a bonus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a diverse team and clientele.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks and challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding firearms, ammunition, and shooting activities.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
