Experienced Recreation Coordinator Geriatrics
5 plus years of professional experience
Must have 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years (1 year must be full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting)
Must have a bachelors degree in Recreation Management or related field or must be licensed / registered by the State
CTRS certification preferred
Previous experience in planning and coordinating recreational activities is strongly preferred.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to recreational activities.
DUTIES :
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for researching, planning, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive recreational services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident in Assisted Living and Health Care Center
Plan, organize, and coordinate recreational activities and programs for individuals or groups
Develop and implement schedules and itineraries for recreational events
Conduct assessments, resident evaluations, and develop care plans to the needs and preferences of the individual residents
Write progress notes according to regulations and standards
Manage any Health Care Center animal programs and / or vendors
Coordinate one-on-one programming for those who cannot participate in group activities
Coordinate with other departments or organizations to ensure the smooth execution of recreational activities
Provide guidance and supervision to participants during recreational activities
Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for recreational programs
Evaluate the effectiveness of recreational programs and make improvements as needed
Ensure the safety of participants during recreational activities
