JOB TITLE: Recreation Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Recreation Supervisor
The Ocean Park Association (OPA), established in 1881, is a small nonprofit community organization located in Ocean Park, Maine. Entering its 144th season, OPA offers programming focused on spirituality, education, cultural arts and recreation.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for coordination and facilitation of activities for families and youth in Ocean Park’s recreation program and to assist in creating family-centered programming for residents and visitors to Ocean Park.
We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as a part time Recreation Coordinator for our summer recreation program for children, teens and adults. This position is from June 17, 2024 to August 16, 2024 (approximately 9 weeks).
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience in working with youth and community in a salaried or volunteer position.
· Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to communicate effectively.
· Ability to plan and organize activities and maintain records.
· Proven ability to be dedicated, reliable and responsible.
· College education or experience in the field of recreation or education.
· Possesses the necessary required background checks to work with children.
HOURS: 18 - 20 hours per week with occasional evening and some weekend commitment.
SALARY: 9 week contacted position or Paid Internship, $3,600.00 for season; perfect for college student.
Preference will be given to a candidate who can work the entire 9-week season.
