The Recreation & Special Event Coordinator plans, organizes, implements, supervises, and evaluates city-sponsored recreational programs and activities, including one-time, year round, seasonal and summer programs and activities; recruits, coordinates the activities of regular, temporary and volunteer recreational staff. This individual also coordinates the City’s special event permitting process, including overseeing interdepartmental involvement. Prepares program budgets, monitors expenditures, and oversees donations and the rental, scheduling and use of recreational facilities. Also performs related parks and open space work as required.

This is an office-based job in a dynamic multi-use municipal building. While performing the duties of the Recreation and Special Events Coordinator, the incumbent is required to: interact and communicate frequently with the public, government officials, other staff members and boards, and/or third parties transacting business with the City.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Operates standard office equipment including computers and keyboards, at efficient speed; and move throughout the municipal building which may include flights of stairs. Lifts/moves objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
HOURS
35 hours per week, some evenings and weekend hours may be required as needed to attend meetings and special events.
SALARY
Starting rate: $23.24 - $24.53 per hour
Annual increases up to $32.18 per hour
