At Clackamas Education Service District, our mission is to lead, serve and innovate for learning. Clackamas ESD provides services in early learning, special education, technology and teacher/staff support to Clackamas County school districts. We ensure students and families in all of our communities — big and small — have access to equitable education services. Learn more.
About the program:
We ask a lot of our educators, and we’ve long known they need more support to help students reach achievement goals. In 2017, Oregon created the Regional Educator Networks to provide more equitable support for teachers throughout the state. Investment decisions are made using an equity lens to ensure initiatives will meet the needs of the region, not just one district.
Clackamas ESD leads a regional branch of this effort – the Multnomah-Clackamas Regional Educator Network (MCREN). A collaborative team of educators spanning districts across Multnomah and Clackamas counties came together in 2020 to initiate their work in improving the systems that support educators, from career preparation and recruitment to ongoing professional development and advancement support. They began accepting proposals in fall 2020 to fund projects such as culturally sustaining regional mentor training and anti-racist training for white educators.
