Rehabilitation Services Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the rehabilitation therapy function. Supervises the delivery of therapy programs to patients. Being a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor responsibilities include providing consultation to and monitoring the performance of the rehabilitation staff. Oversees staff and ensures that all policies and procedures are followed as set forth by the health care facility. Additionally, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a license in the area of specialization. The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Rehabilitation Counselor

    This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workday. The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.

    This Rehabilitation Counselor position is located in the Rockingham County area and will be housed in the Wentworth satellite office which is part of the Burlington Unit Office. This is a third party funded position which serves 4 schools within the Rockingham County School system. This position provides counseling services to youth and adults with intellectual and learning, substance abuse, mental health disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. The selected applicant is accountable for the design and implementation of a comprehensive plan of vocational rehabilitation. Services will be provided to consumers both in person and remotely.

    Job responsibilities include the following:


    • Evaluating professional diagnostic data to determine eligibility and required rehabilitation services
    • Develop a written plan of services in conjunction with the consumer, parent and/or guardian
    • Provide rehabilitation services within the context of a guidance and counseling relationship and provide supportive counseling
    • Monitor the consumer's progress throughout the service delivery process
    • Work directly with community partners in order to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming suitably employed
    • Document service delivery and case progress in the case management system as required by agency policy

    If there are no qualified candidates remaining in the applicant pool who meet the minimum Education and Experience or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for the position, the agency may consider for this position, a trainee who does not meet the minimum requirements. Salary for a trainee may be set at a lower level than the classification salary range and recruitment range that is listed in the posting with the salary being adjusted up accordingly when the trainee has obtained the necessary additional education and experience to fully meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the classification specification.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from an appropriately accredited institution;
    OR
    A master's degree in a related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution;
    OR
    Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission of Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
