Rehabilitation Services Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the rehabilitation therapy function. Supervises the delivery of therapy programs to patients. Being a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor responsibilities include providing consultation to and monitoring the performance of the rehabilitation staff. Oversees staff and ensures that all policies and procedures are followed as set forth by the health care facility. Additionally, Rehabilitation Services Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires a license in the area of specialization. The Rehabilitation Services Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Rehabilitation Services Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Job Summary: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide psychosocial rehabilitation services to individuals with mental health needs via the State of Wisconsin's Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. They are responsible for the direct supervision of adults with mental health support needs in various settings such as the home, community, and vocational sites. It is the Mental Health Rehabilitation Professional's responsibility to see to the specific needs of each individual served, provide opportunities, teach, provide options for informed choice, and follow guidelines according to each client's service plan.

    Job Duties:

    • Individual Skill Development and Enhancement: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide individual skill development and enhancement services. Individual skill development and enhancement services include training in communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, decision-making, self-regulation, conflict resolution, and other specific needs identified in the client's service plan. Services also include training in daily living skills related to personal care, household tasks, financial management, transportation, shopping, parenting, accessing and connecting to community resources and services (including health care services), and other specific daily living needs identified in the client's service plan. Skill training may be provided by various methods, including but not limited to modeling, monitoring, mentoring, supervision, assistance, and cuing. Skill training may be provided individuallyor in a group setting.
    • Building and Maintaining Friendships and Relationships: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals support the participant in the development of friendships and other relationships.
    • Community and Service Networking: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are knowledgeable about the formal and informal supports available in his or her community and are skilled in assisting the individual to identify and gain access to such supports.
    • Medication Management: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide medication management services. Medication management services for non-prescribers include supporting the client in taking his or her medications, increasing the client's understanding of the benefits of medication and the symptoms it is treating, monitoring changes in the client's symptoms and tolerability of side effects.
    • Physical Health Monitoring: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide physical health monitoring services. Physical health monitoring services focus on how the client's mental health and/or substance abuse issues impact his or her ability to monitor and manage physical health and health risks. Physical health monitoring services include activities related to the monitoring and management of a client's physical health. Services may include assisting and training the client and the client's family to identify symptoms of physical health conditions, monitor physical health medications and treatments, and to develop health monitoring and management skills.
    • Employment-Related Skill Training: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide employment-related skill training. Employment-related skill training services address the client's illness or symptom-related problems in finding, securing, and keeping a job. Services may include, but are not limited to: employment and education assessments; assistance in accessing or participating in educational and employment-related services; education about appropriate job-related behaviors; assistance with job preparation activities such as personal hygiene, clothing, and transportation; on-site employment evaluation and feedback sessions to identify and manage work-related symptoms; assistance with work-related crises; and individual therapeutic support.
    • Psychoeducation Services: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals provide education and information resources about the client's mental health and/or substance abuse issues, skills training, problem solving, ongoing guidance about managing and coping with mental health and/or substance abuse, and social and emotional support for dealing with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
    • Wellness Management and Recovery Services: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals empower clients to manage their mental health and/or substance substance abuse issues, helping them develop their own goals, and teaching them the knowledge and skills necessary to help them make informed treatment decisions. These services include: psychoeducation; behavioral tailoring; relapse prevention; development of a recovery action plan; recovery and/or resilience training; treatment strategies; social support building; and coping skills. Services can be taught using motivational, educational, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.
    • Crisis Intervention: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are knowledgeable about crisis prevention, intervention, and resolution techniques and should match such techniques to particular circumstances and individuals.
    • Client Empowerment: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals enhance the ability of the individual to lead a self-determining life by providing the support and information necessary to build self-esteem and assertiveness and to make decisions.
    • Assessment: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are knowledgeable about formal and informal assessment practices in order to respond to the needs, desires, and interest of the individuals.
    • Advocacy: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals should be knowledgeable about the diverse challenges facing individuals (i.e. human rights/client rights).
    • Communication: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are knowledgeable about the range of effective communication strategies and skills necessary to establish a collaborative relationship with the individual.
    • Documentation: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are aware of the requirements for documentation and are able to manage these requirements efficiently.
    • Organizational Participation: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals are familiar with the organizational mission, vision, and values.
    • Professionalism: Mental Health Rehabilitation Professionals pursue knowledge and information necessary to perform job duties.
