Job Description Summary
The Project Director of Acute Care Reimbursement is responsible for the overall strategy and management as it related to multiple Medicare and Medicaid cost reports in order to optimize overall acute care hospital reimbursement, pass through payments, medical education payments, cost based pass through payments, wage index filings, hospital status classifications and all other related items that impact on the acute care hospitals reimbursement levels. The Project Director will be responsible for developing systems to provide for the quick and timely necessary documentation necessary to meet federal and state audit requirements. The Project Director will manage a team of subject matter experts in meeting these objectives. MUSC Health operates five hospitals, multiple rural health clinics and two skilled nursing facilities that require annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. In addition, the system is required to file a home office cost statement. The main hospital operates a medical education program including allied health programs and is a certified organ transplant center. MUSC Healths Medicare and Medicaid cost reports support over $500 million in payments annually.Job Description

Minimum Training and Education: Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of seven years of work experience in a management role with overall healthcare billing experience. Masters degree preferred. Experience at a senior manager or director level preferably. Must have direct experience with reimbursement in a multi hospital system with a variety of provider types. Previous experience with in a multi hospital system including academic medical center, ASC, Imaging Center, Free Standing ER, Rehab, and SNF environment preferred. Strong leadership, consultative skills, analytical skills. Exceptional interpersonal and strong verbal/written communication skills. Strong computer skills; MS Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel with advanced knowledge of financial systems, to include skills with other business intelligence and analytical tools. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills required.
