Protestant Religious Education Coordinator
I-2-I Solutions is looking to hire a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator to support the overall chapel mission by working cooperatively with leadership, staff members, and volunteers at the Offutt Chapel.
Work location: Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Work hours/Days: 1,040 hour/year. Schedule to be determined. fifty-two (52) weeks, not to exceed twenty (20) hours weekly.
Required Qualifications:
Protestant Religious Education Coordinator Be able to clearly express the concepts of the Christian doctrine;
Possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in religious education coordination in a Protestant church or military chapel setting to include: Be able to clearly express the concepts of the Christian doctrine;
Possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in religious education coordination in a Protestant church or military chapel setting to include:
- Recruiting, training and coordination of volunteers;
- Establishing appropriate religious education curricula in coordination with a pastor, minister, denomination and/or other church authorities;
- Coordinating and administering multiple small and large programs in a dynamic environment;
- Planning, programming, budgeting and executing Protestant religious education programs;
Be willing to work within an interdenominational and interfaith setting with chaplains and parishioners of diverse religious positions/backgrounds;
Possess a working knowledge of cross-service military rank structure and military customs, courtesies and protocol;
Pass a background check in accordance with DODI 1402.5; and
Satisfactorily complete all training requirements for contractors performing duties in an Air Force chapel, including computer-based and in-person training.
Job Description
Coordinate Protestant religious education programs for the Offutt Chapel Protestant community, to include recruiting, training, and placing volunteers into service to the Offutt Protestant community;
- Assists the Superintendent, Religious Affairs or Chaplain in charge of volunteers to implement a program to qualify volunteers, train volunteers, track volunteer hours, and recognize volunteers in accordance with DoDI 1100.21 when volunteer services are regularly occurring or of an ongoing nature.
- Assists the Superintendent, Religious Affairs or Chaplain in ensuring volunteers complete a Child Care Criminal History Background Check and comply with line-of-sight supervision requirements in accordance with DoDI 1402.05.
In coordination with the Wing or Protestant Chaplain, assist in the planning, budgeting, scheduling and execution of a comprehensive program of religious education events and activities;
Coordinate and/or execute all Offutt Protestant religious education programs with the guidelines set forth by the Air Force Chaplain Corps, in cooperation and consultation with the Protestant Chaplain, chapel staff and with lay volunteers, as applicable;
Produce a monthly Offutt Protestant religious education programs bulletin for distribution to parishioners and maintain the Protestant religious education portions of all Offutt chapel web pages and social media;
In consultation with the Protestant Chaplain, produce and distribute an annual Protestant religious education program planning and event calendar at least 60 days prior to the start of the upcoming Fiscal Year, beginning in first option period;
Project the required amount of religious education, to include Vacation Bible School, curriculum materials required for each fiscal year and, in consultation with the Protestant Chaplain, submit annually the religious education curriculum materials order to the Wing Chaplain as determined by local Operating Instructions;
Maintain records of enrollment and attendance at all Protestant religious education programs and classes;
Maintain a current roster of volunteer Protestant religious education teachers and staff;
Maintain a stock of expendable supplies and submit request for replacement supplies as needed for Protestant religious education programs;
Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and requirements and applicable Air Force Instructions, local Operating Instructions, policies and directives as they relate to chapel services and religious education programs;
Meet as needed with the Protestant Chaplain and/or chapel staff to discuss pertinent issues related to the performance of duties and attend weekly chapel staff meetings;
Maintain responsibility for cleanliness and orderliness of all facilities and spaces used by the contractor in performance of this task;
