Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Summary:
    Under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, performs basic patient care activities and care. Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

    Responsibilities:
    Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by a Respiratory Therapist

    Assists with tracking and improving patient outcomes.

    Reports abnormal findings in physical or emotional conditions to the Respiratory Therapy staff.

    Assists with keeping units stocked, clean and orderly.

    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

      Minimum Required Education: Enrolled in a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) accredited respiratory care program. Completion of first year of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
      Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
      Minimum Experience: None required.
    • IF APPLICABLE: BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
