Respiratory Therapy Director directs the programs and staff of the respiratory therapy department. Oversees the provision of diagnostic, treatment, and educational services for patients with respiratory disorders. Performs respiratory therapy treatments and diagnostic procedures to provide ventilatory assistance to patients with acute or chronic respiratory disease in general care areas for patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatrics. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant will deliver care under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant may only perform procedures for which he/she has been checked off on in an accredited Respiratory Care Program and by a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Education/Qualifications:
Respiratory Assistant I:
Must be a student, having completed 2nd semester, in good standing providing transcript of active enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program.
Respiratory Assistant II:
Must be a student, having completed 3rd semester, in good standing providing transcript of active enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program. ACLS and BLS certification required.
