Being a Resteel Ironworker ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints and instructions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Resteel Ironworker may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Resteel Ironworker may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Ironworker to join our team. As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for constructing and installing structural steel frameworks for buildings, bridges, and other structures. This is a physically demanding role that requires a strong work ethic and attention to detail. A CDL liscense is a plus.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and other specifications to determine the layout and dimensions of structural components
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble steel components using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Erect and secure steel beams, columns, and other structural elements according to project specifications
- Align and weld or bolt steel components together to ensure stability and structural integrity
- Inspect completed structures to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with building codes and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other construction workers, such as crane operators and riggers, to safely lift and position heavy steel components
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Ironworker or similar role in the construction industry
- Proficient in reading blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of codes, standards, and safety regulations related to ironworking
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use a variety of power tools and equipment
- Familiarity with different welding techniques (e.g., FCAW) and ability to perform stick welding
- Basic math skills for measuring, cutting, and aligning steel components accurately
- Ability to use precision tools such as calipers for precise measurements
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that require heavy lifting and working at heights
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of construction professionals
