We are looking for a Pricing Specialist on our Customer Service and Purchasing team, who will be responsible for the critical task of ensuring accuracy within ERP related to vendor costs and customer pricing. This position works collaboratively to review and make recommendations to leadership related to market and special promotional pricing. Will perform other tasks in support of the Customer Service & purchasing team as assigned.
Responsibilities
Vendor Pricing/Costs
o Timely implementation of vendor price changes, ensuring POs are accurate for any gap period between vendor and CMC implementation dates, and working with accounting, and marketing on corresponding impacts.
Updating costs in ERP and implementing corresponding effects on purchases and customer pricing.
o Responsibility for all aspects of maintaining CMC laid-in cost (ERP) which is the driver for pricing, and for the selling price update processes (quotes, matrix). Calculates, updates and periodically reviews freight and laid in costs in ERP.
o Work with accounting and purchasing to investigate pricing inaccuracies/differences between ERP and P.O.
Customer Pricing/Quotes:
o Work with sales leaders to maintain current quotes and implement new quotes. Become a master in group quoting, quoting off list, contract quoting, etc.
o Leads the execution of flyer/promotional pricing, including utilization of margin support incentives, and monitoring costs to ensure profitability of planned promotions.
o Updating and maintenance of product/item sell groups
o Drive the annual matrix pricing review/maintenance process.
o Specialty Pricing
Consultation and Support of Leadership
o Provide information and support to leadership related to proposed pricing on new products, leveraging internal and external information.
o Analyzes effectiveness of new product pricing decisions based upon sales data.
Qualifications Include:
- High school diploma or equivalent required and a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of pricing or similar/related experience
- A natural aptitude for mathematics with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to think analytically and strategically.
- Ability to solve complex problems that involve competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
- Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team oriented with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with others to achieve departmental and company objectives.
