Retail Store Manager - Museum plans and directs the day-to-day operations of a retail store within a museum. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Retail Store Manager - Museum ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. Additionally, Retail Store Manager - Museum forecasts staffing needs and develops a recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing in all areas. May require a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Lead and directs the work of others. Typically reports to Retail Store Manager, Sr. The Retail Store Manager - Museum supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. DUTIES:
Support customers at point of sale to ensure a great shopping experience and enhance Museum visit.
Maintain familiarity with inventory to facilitate sales.
Handle customer returns, refunds and exchanges at register to maintain friendly work attitude.
Finish regular sales transaction in cash, credit and checks.
Guarantee integrity and accurate cash handling.
Process routine Foundation memberships.
Open and close retail location including cash handling and deposits.
Re-stock sales floor daily.
Answer telephone and route to appropriate person
Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and break-room.
Count inventory as assigned.
(potential to) Assist in receiving merchandise and packaging.
(potential to) Assist with shipping out online orders.
(potential to) Assist with photography and product updates for web store.
(potential to) Assist with email marketing and graphics.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 24 per week
Shift:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
Weekly day range:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
