GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Granite United Way’s Vision is to be the preferred way people work together to build a community that values its collective responsibility to care for each other. All employees at Granite United Way are integral to our ability to achieve our mission. Performance of job duties outlined below, in a manner that enables us to follow through on our promises to the communities we serve, is more than an expectation—it is a standard here at Granite United Way.
Administered by Granite United Way, the mission of the NH Governor’s Recovery Friendly Workplace (RFW) initiative is to help businesses develop recovery-friendly workplace cultures that promote the health, safety, and wellness of employees who have been impacted by substance use disorder (SUD). This can include those who are in – or may not yet be in – recovery, as well as family members who have been impacted. Overall, Recovery Friendly Workplaces (RFWs) prioritize psychological safety and create environments where those who have been impacted by SUD can access support and are treated with parity.
The Corporate/Recruiting Recovery Friendly Advisor (C/R-RFA) is responsible for working 1:1 with participating workplaces and guiding them through the RFW process so that they may advance cultures that are supportive of recovery from SUD and overall wellness, with a focus on working with large/corporate workplaces. Additionally, the C/R-RFA will be responsible for recruiting workplaces to participate in the initiative, with a focus on large/corporate workplaces. Essentially, the C/R-RFA covers all duties/responsibilities assigned to an RFA, but just with a particular focus around recruiting and serving a specific kind of workplace (large/corporate). In terms of the RFA role: RFAs will facilitate an array of meetings and activities with participating workplaces, including program orientations, follow-up meetings, trainings/presentations, and more. RFAs especially serve as a “concierge to the community”, leveraging community partnerships and knowledge of diverse resources in NH and beyond, to connect workplaces to the recovery/public health resources that will best support them. Whether with workplaces, partners, or colleagues, effective relationship-building and communication skills are critical to this role. Internally, RFAs are part of a dynamic, collaborative team that must be able to pivot to meet the evolving needs of participating workplaces. In addition to serving workplaces on a daily basis, RFAs may be asked to support additional RFW-related projects, from helping develop/review new RFW content/offerings to supporting the Director with various tasks, such as data collection and reporting. RFAs may also find that they have a special area of interest that they wish to contribute to the initiative. Overall, this is a role that fosters personal and professional growth and seeks to leverage both individual talents and team synergy to best support participating workplaces and keep NH positioned as a leader in this space.
