Risk Analyst evaluates the vulnerability of an organization's assets to determine the potential risk factors. Performs statistical analysis to quantify risk and forecast probable outcomes. Being a Risk Analyst prepares reports and presents findings to assist management with decision-making while offering solutions to minimize or eliminate risks. Monitors internal and external risk factors including economic, market, and regulatory risks to continuously maintain maximum protection of an organization's assets. Additionally, Risk Analyst supports managers in risk management or risk model construction. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Risk Analyst work is closely managed.   • Summary The Risk Analyst serves as an internal consultant related to claims and litigation and provides guidance related to medical-legal issues in order to control and minimize loss to the organization. Education Bachelor’s degree required. Certification, Registration & Licensure Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) within three years of hire. Experience Combined experience in health care and law required – at least three years. Other related backgrounds will be considered based on education and experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Responsibilities Investigates potential claims, assesses potential exposure or liability, and manages claim files. Works closely with counsel and insurance claims representative to defend claims and lawsuits. Contributes to projects and education that advance the Enterprise Risk program. Drafts, reviews, and revises contracts and documents to reduce institutional exposure and improve patient safety. Serves as an internal consultant regarding questions related to legal/risk exposure. Responsible for administrative functions of claims/suit management. Manages calendars and correspondence, and coordinates the needs of the department.
