Safety Director directs, develops, and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization. Ensures the workplace is in compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic safety audits are conducted. Being a Safety Director provides programs that ensure a safe workplace including safety orientations, skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous material disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. Develops a systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of accidents and generate required reporting. Additionally, Safety Director implements initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Safety Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Safety Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The Role

    How you'll make an impact: 

    • Responsible for end to end program management related to Flock’s pursuit of electrical, alarms systems, or other licenses/certifications related to current and future deployed products 
    • Coordinate installation scheduling with third-party vendors by serving as POC for electrical scope of work questions and concerns coming from the field or contracted vendors
    • Work with Permitting Team to determine the proper path to permitting given state and local electrical code requirements
    • Liaising with deployment strategy, project management, and permitting teams to report location issues, timelines, and risks, and communicating next steps to vendors and cross-functional partners
    • Field phone calls, texts, and emails from vendor or field teams while they are onsite for installation and provide prompt responses
    • Directs safety and training programs for the electrical work within operations and ensures proper safety precautions are followed
    • Work with Engineering team to ensure installations standards are to code
    • Meet with customers, consultants, and project managers to discuss installation options and perform in depth site surveys
    • Project coordination between end users and deployment teams
    • Supporting RFP’s and RFQ’s by understanding bid procedures and bid forms
    • Researches and reports on various budget needs, equipment, and other projects
    • Acquire all required permits and licenses for projects and ensure all inspections are handled correctly and in a timely manner
    • Travel as needed to onboard, train, and quality-check vendors

    We're looking for people who:

    • Active Master/Unlimited Electricians classification in the State of North Carolina
    • Act as the qualifying individual for local or state level licenses requiring specific electrical qualifications, and the ability to pass related exams and screening requirements
    • Clean driving record going back 5 years, and ability to complete basic background check and drug screening
    • Prior experience with field work is a plus: construction, security systems, low voltage wiring, commercial electrical or similar.
    • Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, and electronic systems; and comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory.
    • Must be comfortable with scheduling, production, productivity analysis, change orders, billing project planning, etc
    • Positive and professional demeanor 
    • Willingness to go outside your comfort zone when the situation requires it.  

    Required Availability: M-F during daylight hours. Flexible availability will be key due to the national customer base across various time zones.    

    Travel: This role will require regular travel with some driving in addition to flights.  In these situations, overnight accommodations and meals are provided.  Travel expectations are based on project requirements, business meetings, and other needs.
