- The principal is a well experienced team player who works in collaboration with the Superintendent and administrators to oversee and administer the high school's academic and CTE programs effectively.
- Shares a leadership vision in line with the Superintendent, administrators, faculty, and staff.
- Maintains and works to improve an environment where employees, students, families, and community members feel valued and respected.
- Communicates important information to the school community on a timely and routine basis.
- Oversees faculty and staff supervision and evaluation, making recommendations to the Superintendent on reappointments and other personnel matters.
- Manages employee orientation, staff induction, mentoring, and professional development programs.
- Organizes, directs, and evaluates high school instruction and operations to meet state and regional accreditation standards efficiently.
- Coordinates and oversees the Advisory Committee meetings and its members.
- Understands the importance and is dedicated to celebrating the diversity of our students, staff, and community.
- Prepares and continually reviews all policies and procedures relative to the school.
- Regularly attends student activities and events.
- Attends school committee and subcommittee meetings, providing reports as requested.
- Collaborates with the data analyst to compile, analyze, and report on student academic achievement, aptitude and proficiency, career technical competencies, discipline, attendance, and co-operative education data.
- Engages stakeholders in developing and executing the school improvement plan.
- Works with the Safety Coordinator for the development and enforcement of schoolwide safety policies, plans, procedures, and practices, ensuring compliance with safety drill mandates.
- Supervises the Assistant Principal and Vocational Deans to manage student behavior utilizing the PBIS model.
- Directs High School Administrators and school counselors in presenting a student orientation program for new students.
-Works to increase family engagement through the school council, family engagement events, volunteer opportunities, and regular communications.
- Prepares and updates the student handbook annually, enforcing its regulations.
- Manages daily student attendance records and addresses chronic absenteeism.
- Organizes events for graduating seniors, including scholarships, toolships, Senior Sign-Out, and commencement exercises with the school administration.
- Works with the Administrator of IT and Operations, to ensure the school is secure, maintained, and serviced properly.
- Maintains accurate records as required by statute, policy, or administrative directive.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
