Scrum Master, Sr. coordinates a cross-functional Agile development team utilizing the principles and tools of the Scrum Framework. Assumes a servant leadership role to support a self-organized team to complete Scrum projects. Being a Scrum Master, Sr. identifies and removes impediments to progress. Facilitates sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives. Additionally, Scrum Master, Sr. identifies and manages the backlog. Supports, coaches and mentors team members. Tracks daily sprint progress and maintain schedules. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires Certified Scrum Master (CSM). Typically reports to a director. The Scrum Master, Sr. work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or High school equivalency. Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree. Required Experience: With bachelor's degree, five (5) years of experience, or With associate's degree, eight (8) years of experience, or With high school equivalency, eleven (11) years of experience.
Must have experience in establishing Scrum as defined by the Scrum Guide within at least organization.
Preferred Experience: Scrum Master for multiple teams in multiple organizations.
Experience with other agile frameworks, e.g., Kanban, Disciplined Agile, XP, Crystal Clear.
Experience with agile scaling approaches, e.g., Large Scale Scrum (LeSS), Scaled Agile (SAFe), Nexus. Experience in the health insurance or healthcare industry.
Experience with regulatory requirements in the health insurance domain. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles. Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Proven knowledge of the application of agile at scale and demonstrated ability to coach and lead the cultural and organizational change to make it work.
Knowledge and practical experience of agile and Lean frameworks, values, and practices including, but not limited to systems thinking, theory of constraints, flow metrics, pull systems, value delivery, psychological safety, etc.
Demonstrated fluency in agile and lean values and principles.
Demonstrated ability to influence people at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrates openness and curiosity as a way of enabling change, rather than applying a one-size-fit-all approach
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) or equivalent certification.
Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II), Professional Scrum w/Kanban (PSK), and/or Kanban Management Professional (KMP).
