Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Security Guard - Armed works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control the entrance and exit of visitors according to established protocols.
- Use provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner to report incidents promptly.
- Alert the appropriate personnel or authorities in the event of suspicious or criminal activities.
- Follow all security protocols and procedures established by the company to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while on the job.
- Prevent illegal or inappropriate actions by maintaining a high visibility presence.
Requirements:- DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards & Training) certified.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid D-License.
- Minimum 1 year of security experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Prior security or law enforcement experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
