Security Manager jobs in South Carolina
Security Manager implements security strategy, policies, and standards to ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps. Being a Security Manager trains staff and establishes operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Monitors and inspects systems, alarms, and other physical security measures. Additionally, Security Manager participates in education programs and contributes to communications on security policies and topics to ensure staff is adequately informed and equipped to manage potential security issues. Engages with local, state, provincial, or federal authorities to keep abreast with all security-related information, directives, and events. Initiates or assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials or agencies. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Below are some standard duties of an Account Manager of Security:
- Ensure the sites are staffed and provided with quality security services
- Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
- Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client employees and guests
- Answer questions and assist guests and employees
- Answer phones or greet guests / employees in a professional manner
- Assists with scheduling and training
Required Physical and Mental Functions:- Stand or walk constantly (for multiple hours, up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet, grass, dirt)
- Climb stairs occasionally during shift
- Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
- Rarely lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Run as needed
- Constant use of both hands and arms while using radio/phone, computer, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
- Constant use of eyes to read, view security monitors, and observe/interact with people
- Ability to work in and adapt to various environments including changing outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, or heat
- Strong attention to detail required while on duty
- Must have a valid drivers license and own reliable transportation

We provide S.L.E.D. Certification Training and any other training required onsite.
You must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. You must be at least 18 years of age and be able to pass a drug test and a thorough background check.
