SECURITY SUPERVISOR supervises a team of security guards that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Schedules security guard staff shifts. Being a SECURITY SUPERVISOR assigns guards to patrol and inspect of buildings and grounds. Ensures protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, SECURITY SUPERVISOR monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff on policies and procedures for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Updates team on local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS). Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Reel Security Louisiana provides best-in-class security services across Film/TV Production, Live Events, Executive Protection, and Confidentiality/IP Protection.Security Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited toCommunication Skills:- Uses communication skills (both oral and written) as essential for the position of Security Supervisor.
- Strategically uses two-way communication to generate enthusiasm and foster an atmosphere.
- Is receptive to open exchange.
- Has the ability to work with and understand the needs of our clients and guards.
Critical-Thinking Skills:- Must be able to quickly observe a situation and make the appropriate response.
- Has a good working knowledge of management practices and principles so they can efficiently perform the job.
- Adjusts priorities according to multiple demands and unanticipated events, and modifies decisions and actions in response to changing information and circumstances.
Conflict Resolution Skills:- Identifies potential conflicts and finds solutions to improve processes.
- Is able to respond to scheduling call-offs that occur after hours, which may include: identifying other individuals to fill in and/or standing post until such replacement arrives, assisting the scheduling team with scheduling for call-offs or other changes that occur in the field.
Leadership Skills:- Able to lead their teams in the most effective way, by recognizing team member’s strengths and abilities
- Able to delegate and manage their team's skill sets
- Able to look beyond an incident and find perspective on the situation
Minimum Qualifications:- A minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience in the security industry or related field (Required)
- Flexibility in schedule and available work hours (Required)
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and or in writing (e.g. clients, suppliers, security offices)
- A valid driver's license with a clean record ((Required)
- Ability to safely drive a company vehicle (Required)
- Must meet training requirements set by the state of Louisiana Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies and possess a GUARD CARD approved by this same board.
Preferred Qualifications:- 2-5 years security office experience, prior experience in the security industry, law enforcement, and/or military highly preferred.
- Experience as a police officer or military police officer (preferred)
- Proficiency in iOS and working with iPad
