SECURITY SUPERVISOR supervises a team of security guards that ensure the physical safety of all visitors, employees, or customers to the organization's facilities and the security of property and assets. Schedules security guard staff shifts. Being a SECURITY SUPERVISOR assigns guards to patrol and inspect of buildings and grounds. Ensures protection from intruders, fire hazards, theft, and vandalism. Additionally, SECURITY SUPERVISOR monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Ensures that all security events are logged, documented, and reported using standard procedures. Trains staff on policies and procedures for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Updates team on local, state, provincial, or federal security-related information, directives, and events. Assists with investigations and critical event responses in coordination with law enforcement and other officials. Understands law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS). Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Field Supervisor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
· Must be able to write and train officers on procedures as required for each location (Site Specific)
· Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work weekends and holidays
· Must be computer savvy and be able to multitask environment
· He/she must be able to communicate clearly
· Must be able to travel to locations to perform post inspections with inspections conducted during the week and on weekends.
· Train security officers on operational and corporate policies and procedures.
· Maintain a working knowledge of the locations of all contracted sites.
· Respond to calls for assistance, reports of accident or incidents and after-hour emergencies.
· Monitor and ensure that all company equipment and vehicles are current on maintenance issues.
· Assist with scheduling, fill all open post, and call-off while minimizing overtime.
· Review daily all logs and incident reports, and pass on to Security Management any unusual occurrences, disciplinary issues, call offs, or missing documentation.
· Follow up as directed by Security Management.
· Able to use up and coming technology and be flexible with new development.
· Other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
