THE JOB / THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The Operations & Maintenance Manager will oversee the critical operations and maintenance of RVSS infrastructure, while reporting to the General Manager. While their primary responsibility is administrative oversight of the department and staff, they will also occasionally oversee crews in the field. This Manager is in charge of personnel matters, such as overseeing work schedules, managing staff performance, ensuring workplace safety and regulatory compliance, and allocating staff to special projects. They will also develop and manage the Department’s budget, procure materials, supplies and equipment as needed, and work closely with other leaders across the agency to set strategic goals for the growth and maintenance of the agency’s critical infrastructure.
The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience managing teams in a public works setting, and a passion for creating strong organizational culture. The Manager will foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encourage open communication, and recognize individual strengths while ensuring each member of the team feels valued and included. They will be a dynamic communicator and generous collaborator, able to work effectively with line staff, agency leadership, and the RVSS Board of Directors.
