Position Summary
The Central Oregon Health Quality Alliance (COHQA) is seeking a Program Director who is mission-oriented to lead Gender Hive, a fiscally-sponsored community-based organization focused on improving healthcare access and outcomes for transgender and non-binary Central Oregonians. Launched in early 2023, this grant-funded program is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to lead its strategic and programmatic efforts.
Following last year’s Trans Health Equity Needs Assessment, Gender Hive is poised to increase its engagement with both community members and healthcare/public health organizations, as it develops its strategic plan and implements programs to increase peer support, resource navigation, and provider competency. This position requires a high level of attention to detail as well as strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the health-related needs of transgender and non-binary populations, knowledgeable about Central Oregon’s healthcare landscape and socio-political dynamics, and skilled at seeking and reporting on grant funding. Because this individual will be responsible for facilitating meetings and trainings as well as representing the organization with community organizations and the media, they should also be a competent and comfortable public speaker.
The person who fills this role will have the opportunity to help shape the future of gender-affirming healthcare and social support in Central Oregon, in collaboration with community and public health partners. Because this is a hybrid role that includes in-person events and relationship-building, the Program Director is expected to reside within Central Oregon (Crook, Deschutes, or Jefferson County, or Warm Springs).
