Six Sigma Quality Program Director plans, designs, and directs Six Sigma projects. Develops strategy and policies required to accomplish measurable business process improvements. Being a Six Sigma Quality Program Director employs Six Sigma/Lean methodology and analytics to re-engineer organizational operations. Works with other certified professionals in the planning, designing, and implementation of key projects. Additionally, Six Sigma Quality Program Director coaches and trains teams in the utilization and deployment of Six Sigma tools and principles. Requires Six Sigma certification as Black Belt. May require a master's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Six Sigma Quality Program Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Education, Certifications, Experience:
Experience in the General Electric and Pratt/Whitney supply chain
Minimum of a 4-year technical degree in science, statistics, engineering, or quality
Six Sigma Green Belt through an accredited organization, Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred
10 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace, with an excellent track record of business results and increasingly higher levels of responsibility in line operations or engineering leadership roles
Minimum 3 years of experience in leading site level continuous improvement efforts and projects using Lean methodologies
Experience in team development – problem-solving, conflict resolution, building cooperative relationships, and effective communications
