    ABOUT THE JOB

    As a Solutions Architect, you will need to understand the business side of the organization to understand which IT solutions will fit the company's goals. Aligning IT strategy with business goals has become paramount, and a Solutions Architect can help determine, develop, and improve technical solutions in support of business goals. Solutions Architects must be prepared to work with leaders, managers, and employees across every business unit. A Solutions Architect bridges communication between IT and business operations to ensure everyone is aligned in developing and implementing technical solutions for business problems. The process requires regular feedback, adjustments, and problem-solving in order to properly design and implement potential solutions. Your leadership skills will be important for steering the overall process of identifying key business objectives and determining the requirements for each solution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for assisting in the establishment of an IT Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
    • Lead brainstorming sessions to develop potential solutions for business needs or problems.
    • Identify and recommend appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
    • Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives.
    • Account for possible project challenges on constraints including, risks, time, resources, and scope.
    • Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
    • Work with product and delivery teams to develop and execute scalable solutions and products.
    • Prepare and document testing requirements.
    • Supports the architectural aspects of all application projects in peer IT portfolios.
    • Update technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
    • Work with leadership and key business stakeholders evaluating trends and opportunities to establish data roadmaps.
    • Ensure technical solutions align with business goals and objectives that support long-term strategies.
    • Translate business requirements documentation into data requirements and source-to-target data mappings.
    • Identify user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods.
    • Identify strategies for resolving and preferably avoiding unintended consequences introduced by complex development and business process re-engineering programs.
    • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes, and best practices.


    QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

    Formal Education and Certification

    • Education (Minimum Needed): Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, accounting, finance, or related discipline. Education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience.

    Knowledge and Experience

    • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience architecture, working with architecture, system analysis, engineering, or development. Implementation and project experience required.
    • Hands on experience with enterprise platform systems. Knowledge in Quote to Cash, Forecast to Complete, Procure to Pay business processes. Knowledge in system integration experience.
    • Experience designing and developing data, integration and analytics capabilities and solutions.
    • Strong project management, organizational and mentoring skills.
    • Strong commercial acumen and customer service focus with ability to understand how the business operates and the upstream and downstream activities that are impacted by future state architecture.
    • Experience in developing and leading teams focused on process alignment and improvement as well as transitioning work to global centers.
    • Ability to transform strategic goals into tactical project plans, including ability to track within defined timelines.
    • Career history demonstrating steady progression within business and IT with a successful delivery of stretch projects/assignments as evidence of superior performance in previous roles.
    • Experience with Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Azure preferred.
    • Understanding of ITIL based Service Management methodology.
    • Experience with TOGAF framework or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
