The Special Education Teacher occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Job Description : Soliant is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher to join a school district in Camden, DE.
The SPED Teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, providing instruction and support to help them reach their full potential.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring that goals and objectives are aligned with state standards and students' unique needs
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, social skills, and life skills to students with disabilities, using research-based instructional strategies and accommodations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the general education curriculum and appropriate supports and services
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies and interventions as needed to support student learning and development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievement
- Participate in individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, eligibility determinations, and other special education-related meetings and activities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and behavior
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Delaware teaching certification or licensure in Special Education
- Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting preferred
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Licensure Requirements :
Valid Delaware teaching certification or licensure in Special Education
