Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments in a nursing home or long term care setting. Conducts patient evaluation of speech and language skills using applicable diagnostic materials and tools. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials. Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating and counseling the patient. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home documents assessment and patient progress. Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers. May direct support staff in assisting with treatment. Ensures that treatment aligns with patient needs and is within the parameters set by the payer. Requires a master's degree in speech pathology or equivalent. Requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) and may require a state license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Speech and Language Pathologist - Nursing Home's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.     Overview: Amazing Care Home Health is currently hiring part-time Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) to join our team.

    Location: We are looking for coverage in the following areas:

    • St. George, Cedar City and surrounding areas

    Compensation: $65-$70 per visit, plus mileage reimbursement

    Please note: Pay rate is per visit and dependent on experience.

    Job Description: A speech-language pathologist (SLP) will implement treatment plans to assist clients of all ages with cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning by developing and administering speech therapy services in the home and community settings.

    • A master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP)
    • ASHA Certification or documentation of passing PRAXIS exam and completion of a Clinical Fellow/Externship
    • Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Utah
    • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification
    • Valid driver's license and auto insurance
    • A minimum of 1-year clinical experience in Speech Language Pathology is preferred, but not required

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides compassionate and high-quality care that meets the needs of the client and family by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results, developing a plan of care including skilled interventions and goals appropriate to the client's needs, and creating and implementing speech and language treatment plans in conjunction with the physician.
    • Assists pediatric and adult patients to develop or regain cognitive, speech, language, feeding/swallowing, and/or social/emotional functioning and improves their level of independence and quality of life.
    • Coordinates care with referring physician and other health care organizations and personnel to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective care for the client.
    • Instructs client, family/caregiver, and other organization health care personnel in the client's treatment plan as indicated.
    • Identifies client and family/caregiver needs for other services and refers as appropriate.
    • Prepares and submits documentation per organization policy.
    • Maintains clinical competency in the theory and practice of speech-language pathology.

    Qualifications:

    • A master's or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP)
