Speech and Language Pathology Director jobs in Arkansas

Speech and Language Pathology Director plans and directs the operations of an organization's audiology and speech therapy functions to ensure effective operation and compliance with regulatory standards. Designs policies and processes to ensure efficient service delivery and promote best practices. Being an Speech and Language Pathology Director develops and implements long-term strategic plans and objectives for audiology and speech therapy programs in alignment with the organization's overall objectives. Provides leadership and oversight to the development and expansion of programs or service offerings. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathology Director evaluates program design, assessment tools, and treatment protocols and researches advancements in the field. Develops and manages the budget to allocate resources to support staffing, equipment, and other program needs. Monitors operational and financial metrics to measure the achievement of organizational objectives. Negotiates and selects vendor proposals and manages vendors to maintain inventories and adhere to budgets. May require a master's degree in audiology or speech pathology. Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to senior management. The Speech and Language Pathology Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Speech and Language Pathology Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Speech Language Pathology Assistant (temporary for the 2022-2023 school year)

  • QUALIFICATIONS:                         

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Sciences from a recognized University
    • Some clinical experience with school age and/or preschool age children

     

    REPORTS TO:      Building Principal

     

    JOB GOAL:          Conduct a variety of tasks under the direct and indirect supervision of the licensed and certified speech-language pathologist(s).

     

     

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    1. Provide drill and practice in accordance with a plan designed by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
    2. Record correct/incorrect productions.
    3. Complete informal progress notes for sessions.
    4. Review progress notes with supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
    5. Transfer progress notes onto Medicaid documentation forms.
    6. Assist with conference paperwork and filing.
    7. Maintain therapy room and supplies.
    8. Prepare therapy materials as directed by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s).
    9. Assist the supervising speech-language pathologist(s) with large groups such as integrated therapy and inclusion classes.
    10. Update computer information on students receiving speech-language therapy.
    11. Escort students to and from speech-language therapy sessions.
    12. Make phone calls to schedule screenings and conferences.
    13. Convert raw test scores [provided by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s)] to standard scores and percentiles.
    14. Transfer information provided by the supervising speech-language pathologist(s) onto a rough draft of the evaluation report.
    15. Update computer information on students receiving speech-language therapy.
    16. Participate in necessary trainings when required.
    17. Perform other duties as assigned.

     

     

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

     

    Salary Range:                  Range 1 - Support Staff Daily Salary Schedule ($182.62/day - $298.74/day depending on relevant experience)

    Length of Contract:         187 contract days

    FLSA Status:                     Exempt

    Personnel Status:            Classified

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
