Staff Nurse - RN - Emergency Room provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the emergency room. Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs. Being a Staff Nurse - RN - Emergency Room records patient histories, performs various diagnostic tests, administers medications, and develops patient care plans in conjunction with other medical professionals. Assists physicians during examinations and emergency procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as necessary. Additionally, Staff Nurse - RN - Emergency Room observes patients' progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates attending physician directly when necessary. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Job Description: The Emergency RN is a clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to the patient through utilization of the nursing process, which include but is not limited to assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The Emergency RN Provides quality patient care in accordance with policies and procedures and established patient care standards and practice.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
Current professional nursing license to practice as a Registered Nurse
Two years experience in the Emergency Department
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)-if not currently certified at the time of hire, must complete course within 3 months from date of hire
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if not currently certified at the time of hire, must complete course within 3 months from date of hire
