The person filling this role is required to have a P.E. license plus a minimum of 5 years of residential design experience in Texas and/or Colorado and/or Florida. This is a customer-facing role so that experience is also essential.
The Senior Structural Engineer will be primarily responsible for the design and structural analysis for single-family, multi-family, retail, and light commercial structures. The design work will also include retaining wall foundations. You will draw structural designs, manage projects including budgeting and scheduling, and provide insights from onsite field observations.
Other responsibilities include generating appropriate plans and calculations as well as being a liaison with clients and city/state agencies, inspections out in the field, developing mid to junior level engineers, and helping grow the engineering department.
Requirements
• P.E. license in Texas or Colorado or Florida or combination of the 3
• Experience using industry standard building design software (RAM Structural Systems, Concept,
RAM Elements, etc.)
• Comprehension of building structure design (steel, concrete, wood, precast, etc.)
• Knowledge of local building codes and requirements
• Experience creating structural drawings/details in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting programs
• Understanding of other disciplines, such as, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, and surveying
• Knowledge of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) steel manual, American Concrete
Institute (ACI) code 318, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7, and International
Building Codes (IBC)
