Additionally, Structural Engineer provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Structural Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Role Overview:

    These roles are working with the M&S Consulting client as either a full-time salaried role or a contract to hire role. The client is building a large facility that is slated to be a 3-4 year project. 

    Role: Structural Engineer: Need 6-8 people.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, and design analysis
    • Collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and design-build contractors on the design and construction of projects
    • Communicate with clients on the status or progress of projects
    • Direct other internal team members such as drafting personnel
    • Perform construction-related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, periodic construction site observation, and occasional specialized structural inspections
    • Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large design-building projects, candidates must have the ability to communicate and resolve issues with other project team members
    • Must be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to develop and maintain an efficient and productive structural team

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET- accredited program
    • 5-15 years of technical experience in structural design engineering
    • Technically competent in structural engineering design in concrete and structural steel
    • Proven experience producing structural designs, including detailed plans and specifications for major projects

    Experience in three-dimensional or finite-element structural design software packages such as STAAD, TSD, Bentley RAM, or other programs commonly used in the design industry.

    Preferred Skills: 

    • PE Registration is preferred but not required
    • Working knowledge of Revit and Autodesk BIM360 environment
    • Industrial or manufacturing facility structural engineering experience
    • Working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of architects, structural, process mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and control disciplines
    • Structural experience in Mass or Heavy Timber design
    • Working knowledge or use of:
      • Trimble’s Tekla Structural Design (TSD) software package
      • Autodesk’s ROBOT software package
      • Bentley Ram Elements
