• Supervises the activities of an assigned crew of Iron Workers, delegates work accordingly and actively performs the following tasks alongside their crew:
• Fabricates, erects, hoists, installs, repairs and services structural ironwork, precast concrete, concrete reinforcing materials, curtain walls, ornamental iron and other metals used in construction of buildings and other structures.Maneuvers iron and steel beams, concrete reinforcing and other metal materials into place either by hand or through mechanical assistance.
• Performs welding, torching, cutting and brazing tasks to fabricate and secure structures.
• Verifies proper alignment of structural members using laser equipment, transits or other hand tools.
• When properly certified, erects scaffolding structures to be used during construction. Dismantles structures after use.
• When properly certified, performs rigging functions to move, install and/or lift materials and other equipment into place. Uses proper hand signals to assist others in this process.
• Reads, interprets and ensures that work is compliant with approved construction drawings and documents. Asks questions when unsure of requirements prior to commencing work.
• Follows drawings to perform precise layout of iron and steel structures such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, doors and works around other areas such as electrical, piping, mechanical, etc.
• Conducts pre-task planning sessions with crew to ensure everyone knows the job expectations, has the training/tools they need and understands safety requirements for the work they will be performing.
• Communicates, coaches and enforces CR Meyer safety standards with their crew including but not limited to: PPE, power tool safety, HazCom, lock-out/tag-out, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial vehicles, jobsite housekeeping standards, etc.
• Works with the Safety Coordinator to train and hold people accountable to CR Meyer safety standards. Has the authority to stop work in cases of imminent danger.
• Orders tools, supplies, materials, equipment needed for job completion using the company’s Yard Ordering system. Monitors and controls access to company property to reduce damage and/or loss.
• Orients new employees to the job site.
• Accurately keeps track of crew time and reports payroll hours in accordance with company training.
• Accurately tracks productivity measurements and reports as required.
• Participates in project team meetings, as required.
• Completes all paperwork in accordance with CR Meyer paperwork training.
• Works cooperatively with other trades to ensure projects stay on track. Ensures all communication with customers, subcontractors, coworkers and other parties is professional.
• Leads by personal example and is a strong advocate for the CR Meyer Mission-Vision-Values and Code of Conduct.
• Proactively maintains certifications and training requirements in relation to Iron Worker trade, with an emphasis on new developments in the field, technology and leadership.
• Maintains personal transcript of training and provides updates to the company as needed.
• Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times.
• Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
• Completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
• Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Previous experience as an Iron Worker Journeyman required and must hold a Journeyman Certificate/ License.
• Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines including, but not limited to, First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart and other job/trade-specific requirements.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
• Must possess basic computer skills and/or the ability to learn CR Meyer software and systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits.
• Primary work hours are weekdays, however, overtime, weekend and on-call/emergency work will be required in relation to project completion deadlines.
• Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States, without employer sponsorship.
