Student Activities Officer assists in the development, organization, and oversight of the university/college's extra-curricular programs. Sets up social events and has a participatory role in the Greek system, the student government, and student run clubs. Being a Student Activities Officer approves funding for various student activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Activities Officer typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. General Responsibilities: Provide daily care and activities for the residents.
Duties: Main Focus is to coordinate and over-see certain activities for the residents to partake in such as, but not limited to:
a) Basketball Tournaments
b) Dodge Ball Tournaments
c) Football Games
d) Movie Days
e) Pool Days During Summer Months
f) Cook-outs
g) Music Class
h) Art Class
i) Bible Study
2. This person will concentrate on occupying as much of the residents' time as possible.
3. Establish a good rapport with the residents.
4. Participate in the reporting and handling of crisis situations.
5. Demonstrate Competence in the cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity.
6. Maintain knowledge of community resources.
7. Maintain discipline following State Guidelines.
8. Monitor residents for a safe environment at the facility
9. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Qualifications and Experience: This person must be at least 21 years of age with at least 1-year experience working with troubled youth such as this. High School Diploma or GED.
