Sustainability Analyst jobs in Summerville, SC
Sustainability Analyst uses a variety of research methods to analyze, report, and provide recommendations for corporate sustainability projects and programs. Stays abreast of trends in renewable resources, sustainable work processes, and environmental science. Being a Sustainability Analyst ensures proper sustainability benchmarks are established and maintained using ESG measures, standards, and methodologies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Sustainability Analyst typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Sustainability Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. The City of Charleston is looking for a student to join the Mayor's Office of Resilience and Sustainability! In this role, you will assist with project planning, research, and community resilience communications, working closely with Resilience Office staff and other City staff on communications operations, public engagement, research, and data evaluation/input.
*Applicant must be a current college student.*
- Work with staff to develop a communications strategy for City resilience, both for internal City consumption and for the broader community
- Research, create, and refine content for the resilience strategy and for community education
- Participate in public meetings and engagement on community resilience
- Evaluate City data for incorporation into current and future city resilience projects
- Assist with resilience, flood risk mitigation, urban planning and floodplain grant acquisition
- Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks
- Current college student pursuing bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, planning, sustainability, and / or resilience.
- Proficient in research, writing, and communications skills
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products, or similar software.
- Willingness to learn website development and online communications tools.
