Overview:
Department 426, VIRGINIA HM&E Electrical Systems, consists of a diverse group of engineers that are responsible for developing much of the technology and infrastructure on the VIRGINIA Class submarines, including: Electrical Hull Penetrators, Outboard Cabling, Cathodic Protection and Underwater Electromagnetics, Interior Electrical Systems, Lighting and Cable Infrastructure.
The D426 Electrical Hull Penetrator (EHP) and Outboard Cable Assembly Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Supervisor to lead a team of up to 12 engineers to perform work for all submarine classes. This engineering team is responsible for the design, development, integration testing and sustainment of these types of components that support systems throughout the submarine, for new construction, backfit and overhaul. This team works routinely within the SUBSAFE boundary and is responsible for Level 1 / Hull Integrity material, which requires technical proficiency and attention to detail. This team is also responsible for performing SUBSAFE design reviews.
The successful candidate will provide technical direction and assistance to a team of engineers to develop, contract, test and deliver products for new designs and backfit. The team directly supports the shipyard for all new construction efforts as well. The successful candidate will also maintain excellent working relationships with the Navy customers and our vendors. Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement are also paramount to the group’s success.

Qualifications:
Required Attributes

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Minimum five years of engineering experience

Active SECRET or higher clearance

Ability to travel occasionally

Experience with EHP, outboard electrical engineering and/or cable design

Experience working with welding and non-destructive test (NDT) engineering

Experience working in Special Emphasis Programs (SUBSAFE/DSS-SOC/FBW) and with Level 1 / Hull Integrity material

Experience with JCALS, Teamcenter and SPARS

Working understanding of EVMS and project management
