    • You will be responsible for ensuring that all plant equipment is in top operating condition and is available for production as needed.
    • You will be in charge of reviewing and rationalizing preventative maintenance procedures, evaluating and maximizing maintenance procedures in collaboration with other support personnel and staff.
    • You will establish and maintain a good working climate to encourage employees to participate as team members in achieving management goals.
    • You will be responsible for setting up performance standards, rating performance, approval or disapproval of various leave requests, disciplinary actions, initiating commendatory actions, and training and development of subordinates.
    • You will review work while in progress or on completion to assure standards are met.

Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing or assisting in the oversight of plant operations with an excellent troubleshooting ability, technical knowledge of production equipment, mechanical and electrical equipment, computer operations, and ability to motivate maintenance personal under pressure; 2) Planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and repairs of multiple heating boilers; 3) Using Information Management Tracking System to initiate and track work and purchase requests; 4) Maintaining communication with plant operational personnel to ensure a high state of readiness of all mechanical systems within the power and heating boiler plants; and 5) Assuring adequate quality control measures and indicators are in place to ensure smooth job scheduling, accurate estimating, high levels of productivity and quality workmanship. Recommends new methods, material or equipment available for expediting and improving work execution.

    Working Conditions:
    Hazards encountered in this rating are not unusual, except for the furnace explosions, which happen occasionally due to the nature of fuel being burned. Adequate ladders, stairways, and protective guard~ are provided where feasible. Job site working environment Involves exposure to hazardous equipment, pumps, air compressors, combustion fans, energized electrical equipment, sharp edges, and high pressure boilers, valves and piping. Is exposed to toxic fumes, boiler gases, and chemical agents used for boiler water and steam treatment. The hazards are always present and are part of normal working conditions associated with working In and around steam production operations. Works Indoors 85% of the time and outdoors 15% of the time. Work involves uncomfortable conditions such as excessive heat, dry atmospheric conditions and constant noise from machinery, dust, dirt, and soot.
