Position Summary:
The Systems Accountant will be primarily responsible for working with a variety of departments to ensure any and all IT issues impacting month-end close are resolved.
EG America is a convenience store operator with nearly 1,700 company owned and operated locations across the United States. EG America’s store support center is located in Westborough, MA. Reporting to the Manager of Retail Revenue, the Systems Accountant will be a key member of the EG America Finance team.
Responsibilities:
1. Identify and update missing stores from End of Day (EOD) Smart sheet to ensure all merchandise and fuel sales are recorded.
2. Point person and direct liaison between Fuel/Store Edit teams and IT with the shared end goal of ensuring a smooth GL close each month.
3. Work with Store Edit/Fuel Edit Team to identify IT related issues such as missing fuel meters, high refunds, prepay variances, cash over and short variances and communicate and resolve theses with IT.
4. Assist the Manager of Retail Revenue with any systems upgrades or configuration/review of new sites due to acquisition integration.
5. Maintain the accounting system for open/closed stores
6. Provide support for the Fuel Group Leader / Store Edit Supervisor on margin review and adjust accounting records where necessary including recording any journal entries
7. Review for appropriate system access and segregation of duties
8. Develop and update dashboards and Power BI reports with IT to hold various parties responsible.
9. Reconcile data between POS systems and accounting system
10. Review Credit card and smart pay variances with Store Edit/Fuel Leaders and communicate any discrepancies to Retail Accounting team or IT/Resource Protection if necessary.
11. Miscellaneous ad hoc requests and projects.
Working Relationships: The Systems Accountant will work closely with the Store Edit, Fuel Edit, Retail Accounting, Pricebook and IT.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience, knowledge of PDI.
