Talent Management Manager manages the development, implementation, and administration of programs that evaluate, measure, enhance and improve employee performance. Utilizes assessments to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Talent Management Manager leads the design of performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Establishes cross-functional synergies that provide training and development resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Talent Management Manager champions a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Talent Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Talent Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Sr. Manager, Talent Management & Retention Strategies is part of Quest’s Organizational Effectiveness team and will have the opportunity to partner with various leaders within HR and in the business.  The incumbent will develop and manage key approaches, programs, and projects that enhance the organization’s ability to retain the best talent at Quest Diagnostics.  Key initiatives will focus on the reduction of turnover, particularly for frontline roles, and include the implementation of solutions that leverage predictive analytics, support effective onboarding approaches, employee engagement, and promotion of Quest’s Employee Value Proposition.  The incumbent will have the opportunity to make a significant positive impact on the organization and its employees.

     

    *This position can be located anywhere in the US in a remote capacity

    Responsibilities

    • Gather data/feedback from the business, HR business partners, employee engagement survey data, and the Data Analytics team to understand the key drivers causing the highest turnover of frontline employees
    • Develop near and long-term, multi-faceted strategy to retain the best talent for Quest Diagnostics, particularly for high-turnover frontline roles
    • Manage the employee listening program, including vendor management, survey development, deployment, analysis, and insight generation.  Continue to evolve the use of cross program intelligence and infuse insights into retention initiatives
    • Partner with various internal departments to advance the objectives of the strategy
    • Assess onboarding needs of new employees that are most critical to employee retention
    • Design and implement, along with key partners, onboarding curriculum and programmatic approaches that best promote employee engagement and retention
    • Implement approach to consistently measure factors that most significantly impact retention (organization-wide and locally) and design actionable approaches/programs (e.g. stay interview process, mentoring, educational opportunities, other tailored solutions)
    • Develop and track success metrics and keep key stakeholders informed of progress
    • Partner with Data Analytics to measure impact of the programs/changes implemented aligned to the overall strategy and develop predictive analytics tools that leverage historical turnover patterns to predict future risk
    • Performs other duties as assigned by management to help align our Organizational Effectiveness impact with business priorities/opportunities

    Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree is required. B.A degree in Human Resources or related field
    • MBA, Masters in Org. Development, Human Resources or related field preferred

    Experience/Skills

    • 8 years relevant experience in Human Resources
    • Experience in managing Talent Management/HR programs/projects
    • Strong project management, change management, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
    • Strong program design and evaluation skills
    • Thinks creatively about how to address problems
    • Experience executing employee retention strategies/programs
    • Strong data analysis and presentation skills
    • Actively takes initiative / self-starter
    • Highly detail oriented and consistent on follow through
    • Builds trusted partnerships across all levels
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required
