Being a Technical Librarian communicates with researchers to develop and maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of the organization's relevant topics and effectively target technical publications as information sources. Creates abstracts, bibliographies, and metadata to classify the information. Additionally, Technical Librarian obtains translations of literature as needed. Librarian
Overview: The Librarian must have an MLS or MLIS degree. The Librarian will assist with learning resources for students, inventory, classroom workshops, and other tasks as needed.
The main functions of this position include circulation, reference, technology support/maintenance, and library inventory, all with the goal of supporting our students’ research needs. Some other responsibilities might include keeping library statistics, ordering supplies, assisting students with the textbook ordering process, and proctoring placement tests. Gaining familiarity with the LRC’s research databases and resources will be essential to this position, as well as being able to work independently.
Based on the candidate's interest and the ability for additional administrative work, it can be a full-time position later.
