Being a Technical Trainer writes training programs, including outline, text, handouts, and tests, and designs laboratory exercises. Lectures on the safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of software, machinery, and equipment. Additionally, Technical Trainer administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Technical Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 15-20 technicians in a hauling station environment.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture among team members.
- Conduct afternoon meetings with the shop to review daily workload, enforce safety protocol, and optimize efficiency of the shop
- Oversee the maintenance of the facility to ensure a safe and functional working environment.
- While hands-on work is not required, having technician-level knowledge would be a valuable asset for effective communication and problem-solving.
- 3-5 Years in a supervisory/managerial role
- Demonstrated experience in a Fleet Environment, specifically in managing technicians responsible for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Previous Waste & Recycling experience not required
- Proficiency in using maintenance software systems to streamline operations, track equipment maintenance schedules, and enhance overall efficiency
- Technician level knowledge preferred
