The technical writer will be responsible for writing documentation covering new and existing modules of the application, as well as editing and reorganizing a substantial quantity of existing documentation, all via a web-based wiki. The audience for the documentation is both non-technical users (experimenters), as well as the software developers and data scientists that create and maintain the simulation models. It is expected that the documentation will cover the web apps. high-level architecture, step-by-step guides on how to use its various modules, as well as how to programmatically access the application’s back-end services/APIs (with usage examples).

• Work with modern software architecture patterns and the ability to rapidly achieve proficiency in new areas with minimal guidance would be valuable.
• Develop documentation for the Selling Partner API and Marketplace Web Service (MWS) via collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
• Content creation and editing tasks for a variety of technical content assets
• Author content according to a style guide and identify style guide updates and improvements
• Manage a weekly work queue of documentation requests
• Proactively identify needed process improvements, documentation design improvements, and road blocks to content development and design solutions to address them
• Appropriately identify issues needing escalation
• Able to act in an advisory capacity to teams creating draft source documentation

• 5 years in a technical writing role on a highly technical subject matter
• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Computer Science, English or a related field

• Experience with software developing/coding
• Experience working directly with engineers and subject matter experts
• Experience managing a work queue in an issue tracking system (Jira, Team Foundation Server)
• Knowledge of web analytics and reporting
• Experience deriving actionable content plans from social media engagement and response
• Experience maintaining a style guide
• Familiarity with Open API and Swagger specifications
• Experience working with Java, C#, Python, etc.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, Markdown, authoring tools, repository management and source control systems
