Telecommunications Director is responsible for the strategic planning and design of an organization's telecommunications systems. Develops policies and procedures for installing and maintaining telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Director plans and manages complex installation or repair projects. Assesses current and future telecommunications needs and researches and plans improvements to meet those requirements. Additionally, Telecommunications Director trains and develops staff. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Telecommunications Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Telecommunications Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Reporting to the Executive Director and an integral part of the senior management team, the Deputy Director is a pre-K-12 policy expert who assists Mississippi First in developing and enacting its policy agenda. The Deputy Director will directly manage a team of (5) policy and special project team members, and assist the Executive Director in managing the executive team. As a pivotal member of the leadership team, the Deputy Director will work very closely with the Executive Director to understand the overall operations of Mississippi First and may serve to represent the organization during any absences of the Executive Director.
