Test Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications. Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions. Being a Test Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Test Engineering Manager typically reports to a unit/department head. The Test Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Test Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Ability to effectively present information and respond to customer inquiries and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform advanced mathematical concepts. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Computer knowledge Other Qualifications: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good team player with an ability to operate in a cross-functional organization. Organized, detail orientated and executes with a sense of urgency. Proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritize, multi-task. Demonstrates comfort level in interacting with all levels of the organization. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Data driven mindset in identifying and prioritizing opportunities and issues. Strives for continuous improvement.
