Job description
Event Managers are responsible for soliciting new and past business for the Club, primarily in areas such as Social Events, Weddings, Meetings and Outings as well as execution of assigned events. Event Managers will use a variety of tools to solicit business including, but not limited to: sales calls, networking, Internet leads, bridal shows, referrals and community involvement. This position is responsible for managing the entire event from the initial booking through the successful completion of the event.
As an Event Manager, you are responsible for managing your accounts and ensuring client satisfaction, working to exceed your clients’ needs and quickly resolving any issues or complaints. This includes corresponding with potential clients and providing any requested information concerning proposals, confirmation of bookings, contracting the event, follow-up on client deadlines and more. The Event Manager must confer with clients and management team members in all phases of their events including execution of the event start to finish to ensure complete client satisfaction.
In the Event Manager role, a working knowledge of Club operations is helpful. Event Managers are responsible for ensuring that appropriate communication for upcoming events is detailed and complete before being distributed in a timely manner to the operations management team. This helps to ensure the successful execution of the event.
Additionally, candidates for this role should have experience in the area of menu development and marketing as it relates to the catering department. Successful candidates will have prior experience with event coordination, BEO origination and food concepts.
Event Managers should have an upbeat, warm demeanor - a passion for sales doesn't hurt either! Candidates should possess superior communication, negotiation and selling skills. Event Managers will manage banquet team of up to 20 employees at a time.
