    Reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), the Executive Administrative Assistant will provide general support to the CSO, Donald G. Comb Science Director, and the Senior Director of Protein Science and Innovation, who together lead the organization’s research initiatives. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who will aid in general operations including meeting and event planning and logistics, document preparation for the Board of Directors and other correspondence, managing outreach efforts and other Academy admissions operations, and supporting data management related to education initiatives and outcomes, among other mission-critical responsibilities. This is a tremendous opportunity to join a rapidly growing, high-impact organization.

    Essential Areas of Responsibility

    • Provide general daily administrative support to the Chief Scientific Officer, Senior Director of Protein Science and Innovation, and Donald G. Comb Science Director.
    • Coordinate complex scheduling and calendar management for leadership.
    • Aid in research operations including meeting and event planning and logistics, document preparation for the Board of Directors and other correspondence.
    • Act as the administrative point of contact between CSO for internal/external communications and manage the flow of information in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Support data management related to research initiatives and outcomes.
    • Support grant administration and record keeping.
    • Other duties as assigned and necessary to support mission-critical responsibilities.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience supporting leadership; work in life science or non-profit environment preferable, but not required.
    • Previous experience with grants administration and record keeping preferred.
    • Highly organized, motivated, and enthusiastic team player who can be flexible and take initiative.
    • Solid grasp of Microsoft Office, strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.

    Work Environment and Other Requirements

    The position is based at the Research Institute at 417 Main Street, Gloucester, MA. Compensation is commensurate with experience and other qualifications.
